Rainbow first came to the Sanctuary with frequent seizures. She needed medications and lots of quiet time. Caregivers kept her days calm, installed a camera to monitor her overnight, and hung a curtain over her door to ensure deep rest. Once Rainbow’s health improved, she joyfully bounded and body-slammed her way into playgroups (all in good fun — her depth perception is a bit wonky) and romped like the puppy she was. Rainbow also has pica, a behavioral condition where a dog eats non-food items. After surgery to remove nearly 50 rocks from her stomach, we found her a stylin’ pink muzzle for outdoor playtime that prevents her from eating anything she shouldn’t.
