At barely a month old, Evelyn’s life was at risk just because she had been born a little different and needed special care. She has Manx syndrome, a condition prevalent in tailless cats that causes a shortening of the spine. Her hind end did not form correctly, causing incontinence and rear leg paralysis. But Evelyn’s veterinarian helped her find safety at the Sanctuary. Now, she lives in a special area designed for cats with similar medical needs, and her caregivers make sure she’s clean, healthy, and happy. (Plus, all the adult cats have decided she’s pretty much the best kitten ever.)
