What’s that whooshing by? A bird? A plane? Nah, that’s just Bea Arthur out for a spin in her custom-made wheelchair. Bea is an adventurous pup, so when she started having trouble getting around, her caregivers rallied to find a solution. First up was hydrotherapy. Walking slowly in the water tank helped gently stretch and strengthen her stiff muscles. With peanut butter as an encouragement, this soon became one of Bea’s favorite activities. Bea also underwent surgery to rebuild the stability in her knees. And when it became clear this golden girl could use another boost to keep her moving smoothly, she got her own bee-themed set of wheels thanks to a creative caregiver.
