When Myrtle came to Best Friends from a shelter in Nevada, she was full of anxiety. The barking of other dogs and seeing them beyond barriers stressed her out to the point that she’d rub her little nose raw running it along her fence as she darted back and forth — even if her neighbors were ignoring her. She’d even nip at her human friends when she got too overwhelmed. Here at the Sanctuary, caregivers are helping her find moments of Zen: soft snuggles, meandering walks, and plenty of sleepovers where she can unwind and get all the attention she wants.
