A year ago, Lillian was unable to hold her body upright, and she couldn’t eat or drink on her own. She was suffering from the effects of a parasitic infection that impacts the nervous system. It was scary but not untreatable, and caregivers and veterinary staff were quick to act. Medication, acupuncture, and deep-tissue massage did the trick. Soon, Lillian was back on her feet, nibbling at lettuce and lapping up water all on her own. She still has a bit of a head tilt — a small reminder that might never go away — but that just means she still gets regular massages. And she’s not complaining about that.
